I would just like to share my story with all of you. So, I was diagnosed with Panic Disorder, Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder (PTSD), and Generalized Anxiety Disorder (the definitions of these disorders/illnesses are listed below). These are all mental health illnesses, and they once posed a major impact on my life.
I was diagnosed with these disorders for many reasons. During my 6th. grade year in middle school, I was bullied severely by other students. I was bullied to the point where kids were setting up groups, and tried to jump me because they didn't like me. I never bothered anyone, yet everyone had a problem with me. I had no friends or support groups at all. No one to share my story with, except my mother. I didn't even have my father for support because he used to verbally abuse me, never cared to understand what I was going through, and was more focused on himself.
My parents are divorced, and my mother raises my 3 siblings and I all by herself. She has no one to help her, but herself. Everything was going so bad for me, and it got to the point where I wanted to kill myself. I thought about killing myself, and I tried, but I had to stop myself and think about how much my family would miss me. I would suffer, and still suffer, with panic attacks and the effects of my PTSD every single day.
People really don't understand how they can hurt someone just by bullying, and how much it really affects the victim of the bullying. They don't know what it's like to not want to go to sleep at night, and be afraid that you will die, or what's it like to not want to go to school, not have friends to talk to, not have any support groups, feel like your body is shutting down everyday from having panic attacks, and way way more!
Definitions:
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD): A pattern of constant worry and anxiety over many different activities and events.
Panic Disorder: A type of anxiety disorder, in which you have repeated attacks of intense fear that something bad will happen.
PTSD: A type of anxiety disorder. It can occur after you've seen or experienced a traumatic (emotionally disturbing or distressing) event that involved the threat of injury or death.

My point is, I overcame all these issues. Even though it took a while and seemed really hard, I still did. It just takes faith, hard work, and determination. And if I can overcome these problems, I know all of you can too! A lot of you have been bullied, hurt in many ways/shapes/forms, and I just want you all to know how much I do understand what you all are going through. I could share more of my story, but it would be 30 pages long!
